Our 5 frame nucleus hives are guaranteed to give your new hive the strongest possible start. We take care to ensure that each nuc has plenty of brood, honey and pollen stores along with a strong colony of bees with excellent foraging capabilities. Each hive also includes a young, laying queen, which is this season mated and marked for easy finding. Our nucleus hives are supplied in a corflute nuc for easy and safe transportation, otherwise we can install into a hive box for you.

Please note availability is seasonal and due to high demand during spring and summer,  it may take a couple of weeks to prepare a nuc for you.

All our hives are registered with DPI and we undertake frequent Varroa Mite checks in accordance with DPI rules and regulations. Unfortunately, we cannot sell a nuc to you unless you have a Hive Registration Number and are registered with DPI.

The character and quality of a queen bee directly affects the hives productivity, temperament and honey production. Our queen bees are bred to have a calm and docile temperament, perfect for beginners or novice hive owners as they naturally create a more relaxed hive that is easier to work with. 

All our queens are this-season mated and are bred to withstand the colder climate of Canberra and surrounds. They all come marked with a coloured dot for easy finding in the hive. 

Postage is available Australia Wide. Queens are posted in a cage with escorts and sugar plug.

All our hives are registered with DPI and we undertake frequent Varroa Mite checks in accordance with DPI rules and regulations. Unfortunately, we cannot sell a queen to you unless you have a Hive Registration Number and are registered with DPI.
